Some months ago we suffered the loss of our dear Pom. He was more than a lap dog, he was a valued ranch dog, who did his job with gusto and determination, despite his small size. His loss hit all of our family very hard. We thought we would never be able to replace him

Until, that is, we found Molly. Now I know that some will snicker at the thought of a pom or a papillon ranch dog. But they don't know they are small, and they can have every bit as much spunk and determination as a big dog. We have a big dog as well, a pound mutt, and Molly works right along side her big "brother."

We first laid eyes on Molly in a Walmart parking lot in the middle of nowhere. She had just had a 4 hour trip and had another 4 hours before she would be home. Her amazing personality was already evident as she watched huge, noisy trucks go by with nothing more than unabashed curiosity. It takes a puppy with a lot of self-confidence to experience so much new stuff in one day, including big scary things like 18 wheelers only twenty feet from her, and that is something Molly had in spades. Her outstanding temperament and consciencious socialization showed from the very beginning.

Since coming to us she has met our enormous dog, a whole herd of large barn cats, the smallest of which is at least twice her size, and a herd of horses who are, well, several hundred times bigger than she is. Not once has she cowered from any of them. That kind of confidence can't be trained, it is inborn. And it is just the kind of dog we needed.

Niki was extremely conscientious in making sure that not only did we get the dog we needed, but that she got the kind of home that best fit her personality and needs. It could not be a better match. Molly is an active participant in the ranch work, often riding "shotgun" on the ATV as we go about our ranch duties. We finally have the replacement for our little ranch dog, who, unbelievable as it seems to us, is even better than the original.

Thanks, Niki and Fred. You have given us a treasure without measure :-)
