Hi Niki and Fred,
Well first I must say....WE DID IT!!! After a month of trying to figure out shipping logistics (due to neutering and inclement weather) little Sebastian arrived safe and sound at Boston's Logan Airport on 12/6/07 at approximately 3:45pm. Thank you Fred for your willingness to drive the incredibly long distance to and from Kansas City Airport just to put the little guy on the plane. Thank you Niki for the hours spent on the phone with the airlines trying to figure out the best flight for Sebastian to take. It is a credit to you (as a breeder and surrogate mom) that you were so concerned about his health and well-being. As I told you, Sebastian arrived 'perfectly fine.'

He happily wagged his tail and licked me when I took him out of his crate at the air freight building. After two days of shy curiosity at the new sights and sounds, his confidence has sky rocketed. He has come to enjoy his new steady routine. For instance, I ask him if he wants to go out and he runs over to my boots knowing that comes first before we head out. Our black angora cat and Sebastian have come to terms that are acceptable to both. This happened faster than I expected. I guess the cat figured he didn't pose too much of a threat since she weighs more than he does!

This week we took our first walk with two-legged and four-legged friends at the local dog park. It was so cute to see my friends four large dogs (a Border Collie, Yellow Lab, Chocolate Lab, and a Wheaton Terrier) go over to Sebastian one-by-one to sniff him and accept him into the pack. I thought he would be shaking with fear but instead he let them sniff him until they lost interest and ran off for more fun. Sebastian loves the fresh fallen snow and races around with ears straight back and tail whirling like a horse at full gallop. He spends his days playing with toys, getting use to his outdoor potty schedule, and his late morning, late afternoon nap times in crate.

Often he will sit in his day bed to snack on those smelly goat hooves he loves so much, or his bone that was sent with him (with a little touch of peanut butter in it for taste). As I mentioned, my 28 yr. old son originally said he would not take care of a dog if I got one. Well, that was a week ago. His revised comment now stands as, "I have to say mom, I like your little dog." Eric can't come in the house now without taking the time to play with, talk to or hold Sebastian. Heck, he came around even faster than the cat did! lol.... I must say that while he has only been here one week it feels like he has been with us for a lifetime.

Thank you Fred and Niki for making our home a happier one during the holidays!

Seasons Greetings~!
Cheryl
